Weekly Update – October 20, 2025
💛 Staying Connected, Staying Hopeful 💛
Hello ÉGSS families,
We hope you’re finding little moments of calm and joy during this unusual season. Whether that’s a cozy coffee before the day begins, a walk with the kids, or a few quiet minutes to yourself — it all counts. You’re doing amazing, and we’re right here with you. ☕🍂
Here’s what’s new this week:
❌ Council Meeting – Canceled
Our School Council meeting scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday, October 21 at 7pm) has been canceled. Our next Council meeting will be on November 18th, and we look forward to gathering again then!
🎃 Halloween Dance – Likely Canceled
We’re sad to share that it looks like our Halloween Dance on Friday will also need to be canceled if the strike continues.
We will confirm this by Thursday, and all volunteers will be notified by email.
A big thank-you to everyone who signed up — your enthusiasm and willingness to help mean so much to our school community. 💜🧡
🥪 Healthy Hunger – Still Open for Next Week
We encourage families to continue signing up for Healthy Hunger lunches for next week. While we don’t yet know if classes will resume, we’re staying hopeful! 🌟 Order at www.healthyhunger.ca
If the strike continues, your orders will automatically be credited to your Healthy Hunger account for future use — no action needed on your part.
💛 Taking Care of You
This time has stretched everyone in different ways. Here are a few simple ideas for caring for yourself while routines are disrupted:
- Take a few minutes of quiet time for you — even if it’s in the car with your favourite song. 🎶
- Plan a fun, no-stress family night — a movie, board game, or dance party. 💃
- Reach out to another parent; chances are, they need the connection as much as you do. 💬
- Remember: kids don’t need perfect, just present. 💕
We’ll continue to keep you updated here on the website, on Facebook, and in next Monday’s update.
Thank you for your patience, your positivity, and your support for our school community — it truly makes a difference.
With appreciation,
École Good Shepherd School Council
